US Army shows off its 'hoverbike' delivery drone

It's been a year since the U.S. Army began researching the use of a British-built hoverbike as an autonomous delivery drone for battlefields, and it recently showed off its progress.

This is the US Army’s battlefield delivery drone

It’s under development at the Army Research Laboratory

It can carry about 130kgs and fly at 60mph

The Army sends supplies now by vehicle, but that can be dangerous

A drone could reduce human casualties

These tests of a scale model took place in January

Next up: testing of a full-size model
