Drop your bags, this personal bot will lug your groceries home for you

Piaggio, the company behind Vespa, has come up with an autonomous robot that will follow you around and help you with your luggage.

The Gita cargo vehicle can lighten your load by up to 40 pounds

Gita means “short trip” in Italian

Because it’s meant to carry goods for pedestrians

Gita can follow a human operator, or navigate autonomously in a mapped environment

Both indoors and out at up to 22 mph

It’s made by Piaggio Fast Forward, a Boston-based company focused on light mobility

Things like delivering your packages or carrying your groceries

And lending a helping hand to warehouse workers

The vehicle will debut on February 2nd in Cambridge, MA
