Microsoft's Surface Studio is a powerful PC for creators

Microsoft's new Surface Studio is the company's first ever desktop PC and is aimed directly at the creator market, just the kind of people who typically buy Apple Macs.

The Surface Studio is Microsoft’s first ever desktop PC

It takes direct aim at Apple’s 5K iMac, so what can it do?

The 28-inch screen is just 12.5mm thick

Its resolution is 4500x3000, which is better than a 4K TV

The touchscreen monitor sits on arms that take it from vertical to 20 degrees

So it’s comfortable for drawing and drafting

A new gadget called the Surface Dial brings quick access to functions

So you can draw with one hand and control functions with the other

The dial is aimed at creators, just the kind of people who typically buy Apple Macs

The Surface Studio has an Intel Core i7 with an Nvidia 980M graphics card and 2TB hybrid drive

And it comes with all the features of Windows 10 including Windows Hello biometric security

So how much does all this PC cost?

It will be available in “limited quantites” this holiday season
