Moto Z and Moto Z Force first look's Al Sacco compares and contrasts Motorola's new Moto Z and Moto Z Force smartphones.

There are four main differences between the Moto Z and Moto Z Force

The Moto Z Force has what Lenovo calls a "shatterproof" display, the regular Z does not. It also has a larger battery, with a XXX pack compared to the Z's XX pack.

That also means the Force is bigger, and heavier than the Moto Z, which Lenovo calls the world's thinnest smartphone.

And it will also be more expensive, though Lenovo didn't announce price specifics.

Both phones support the new motomods, and they have a set of 16 gold, magnetic pins at the base of their rear side that keep a number of mod accessories in place. The accessories are basically back covers with features built in.

Lenovo showed off four different mods: the style shell case, the simplest mod, which is a thin panel that comes in a number of different colors and textures; the JBL sound speaker audio accessory and battery pack; the InstaShare mini projector; and a straightforward battery pack, that's available with styles from desingers including Kat Spade.

Both new phones will be available exclusively through Verizon Wireless this summer, and unlocked versions are expected to be released in the fall. The moto mod accessories should also be available in the summer season.
