A new gadget combines a pedometer with your Bluetooth headset.

At CE Week in New York, Clip and Talk showed its new bluetooth earpiece that monitors your health while talking on the phone.

Alupro Health works like a normal earpiece, but the company says that it also counts your steps and measures your heart rate. When you take a call it uses optical sensors in the earpiece to track your pulse and sends that and other data to the company’s health app on your phone.

The results are saved into the app’s database so users can monitor their health over time. The app can also send health alerts to doctors, family or friends.

When not on the phone, you can clip the earpiece onto your clothing so that it can continue to capture data, much like other popular fitness trackers.

Turning the device on automatically answers the incoming call.

When done with the call, the user turns off the earpiece, which switches off Bluetooth to save the battery.

The device is rechargeable via USB. It can also be used for storage as it has a micro SD card slot.

Alupro Health, is set to release in August, with models ranging from 100 to 160 dollars.
